# SoFi Stadium – FIFA World Cup 2026 Stadium Guide

SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California is one of the newest and most spectacular sports venues on the planet. Hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the entertainment capital of the world, it will deliver a truly cinematic experience.

SoFi Stadium opened in September 2020 at a cost of approximately $5.5 billion, making it the most expensive stadium ever built. Developed by Rams owner Stan Kroenke, it is part of the larger Hollywood Park development in Inglewood.

The stadium is home to two NFL teams — the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers. It hosted Super Bowl LVI in February 2022, the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2023, and WrestleMania 39 in 2023. It will also host the 2028 Olympic opening and closing ceremonies.

The design features a distinctive ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) canopy roof — a translucent, non-retractable structure that covers the entire stadium while allowing natural light and air circulation. The Infinity Screen — the largest video board in sports — wraps around the interior, providing a 360-degree viewing experience.

The FIFA World Cup configuration seats 69,650 spectators, slightly reduced from the regular capacity of 70,240.

The minimal reduction accommodates the FIFA soccer pitch, media positions, and hospitality areas. The stadium's flexible configuration allows for efficient conversion from football to soccer layout.

SoFi Stadium features multiple seating levels in a modern bowl design:

• Lower Bowl (100 Level): Pitch-side seating with steep rake. Sections C100–C156.
• Club Level (200 Level): Premium midlevel with suite and club access. Sections C201–C256.
• Upper Level (300/400 Level): Upper concourse seating. Sections C301–C456.

Shade / Roof: The ETFE canopy covers the entire stadium but is not enclosed — the sides are open to the elements. The translucent roof filters sunlight and provides shade from direct sun for all seats. However, it does not block heat or humid air, and wind/light rain can enter through the open sides. Overall, spectators are much more protected than at a typical open-air stadium.

Premium areas include SoFi Stadium Club, Hollywood Park Club, and extensive suite levels. The Infinity Screen — the largest video display in any stadium — provides an immersive experience from every seat. FIFA hospitality will be installed.

FIFA's clear-bag policy: one clear bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" or a small clutch (4.5" x 6.5" max).

SoFi Stadium features premium dining options reflecting LA's diverse food scene: gourmet tacos, sushi, Korean BBQ, artisan burgers, plant-based options, and celebrity-chef-branded restaurants.

For the 2026 World Cup, expanded international food vendors will serve a global menu — expect ceviche, empanadas, jollof rice, ramen, shawarma, and dishes from competing nations.

Alcohol policy: FIFA's two-drink limit per purchase. Beer, wine, cocktails available. Sales end around the 60th minute. Valid ID required.

Fully cashless — cards and mobile payments only.

SoFi Stadium has a fixed translucent canopy that shades spectators but does not fully enclose the venue.

During the World Cup period (June 11 – July 19, 2026):

• Average high temperatures: 78–84°F (26–29°C)
• Average low temperatures: 62–66°F (17–19°C)
• Humidity: Low to moderate (50–65%). LA coastal areas experience "June Gloom" — morning clouds that often burn off by afternoon.
• Rain: Essentially zero. Rain in LA during June/July is extremely rare (less than 2% chance).
• Sun exposure: The canopy provides shade, but UV levels are still moderate to high (5–8). The open sides allow indirect light.

LA's summer climate is one of the most pleasant for outdoor events. Evenings are particularly comfortable. "June Gloom" can keep temperatures cooler than expected in early matches, with fog/clouds clearing by mid-afternoon.

SoFi Stadium is ADA-compliant with state-of-the-art accessibility:
